Manyika House: Kaylee and Tinji

These two. Getting to know them, seeing them love, laugh, dance and jump on trampolines, if I ever need reminding, Kaylee and Tinji and couples like them are the reason I photograph weddings.

Kaylee was on a mission trip to Murang’a when she and Tinji met. Working side by side at an orphanage quickly turned their friendship into romance. Kaylee recalls it was his adventurous spirit that drew her to him while for Tinji, it was her heart for serving others. Four years living on different continents and in time zones, but their connection not only persevered but grew into the vision of a shared life.

This is their wedding, one perfect, sunny day in Thika.

With family being very important to both of them, Kaylee and Tinji wanted to have a warm and intimate feel to their wedding . Doing all the decor themselves, it felt like a party at home, with everyone pitching in with what they were good at to altogether create the perfect day. The biggest challenge was getting their marriage license, which is a lot more complicated when a Kenyan is marrying a foreigner, but they pulled it off with just a smidge of time to spare.

The whole day was wonderful, but if they had to pick a highlight, for Kaylee it would have to be when all the other couples present joined them a minute or two into their first dance-not something you see every day back in Florida.

K & T , we couldn’t be more happy for you (what was that couple name someone had already coined? :D) . As you begin a new chapter of your lives, we wish you both much happiness.

Shout outs: “We would like to thank everyone involved with making our special day happen and to our families and friends for their love and support over the past 4 years. BEST DAY EVER :)”
