This is the story of when my little sister asked me to cut her dreadlocks off, the last time we were together in Kenya in 2019. We are a lot alike and tend to see things the same way, so when I cut my permed hair off in my last year of university many, many years ago and went all natural with a beautiful head of locs, she decided that she too wanted to have less chemicals on her hair and a practical hairstyle that would work with her lifestyle. We two dreadlocked sisters have had many, adventures together around the world

When a woman cuts her hair, something is about to change. Over 10 years later, embracing a fresh leg of her life journey with her partner in the UK and studies as a Phd. Student at the university in Edinburgh, she asked me to cut her hair.

I am so proud of the woman she is; strong, courageous, smart, beautiful and not afraid to be vulnerable. Go, fly, my love. You were meant for big things. I’ll be right here cheering you on.
