When Lisa and Dugal got in touch about their wedding, they weren’t sure they wanted to hire a ‘wedding photographer’. You see, they weren’t having a typical do. They knew they wanted to make their partnership official, that they wanted to have an epic party with their nearest and dearest, have it at the Bonnie Doon Hotel and had already booked the best band. What they didn’t want was for their day to feel cheesy, inauthentic and awkward. So, in fact, they were not calling it a wedding, they were having a party at which they would say their vows.
Lisa had seen my response to a bride looking for a photographer on Facebook and while that other couple never got in touch, Lisa liked how I described my laid back documentary approach and thought that sounded just right for their celebration. We got to know each other over a coffee and by the end of our meeting felt like we were already friends. We were going to Bonnie Doon, folks.
It is only fitting that their celebrant was none other than Greg Evans, because these two are a perfect match. Lisa, you absolutely light up when you are with Dugal. You are always on the verge of a laugh and I can tell just how much fun you have together. Dugal, the way you move through the world is just wonderful- positive, curious and always ready for a good time. When you look at Lisa the whole world can see you know how lucky you are. We are all so very happy for you both.
I hope you all enjoy these photos as much as I did creating them for you.
